The schedule of days free from studies in schools is left to the discretion of the regional education authorities, and sometimes the right to set the dates of vacations is given to the head educational institution- the director of the school. Therefore, a general vacation schedule for the whole country does not exist in principle.

This policy of the Ministry of Education has its own reason. Russia is a country of vast territories, and in many cases it is better known locally when it is more correct to establish holidays for children. Only a few rules remain common to the whole country, which relate to the number of days of rest for schoolchildren during the school year.

The smallest are given indulgences. The first graders are given the right to rest more during the third quarter, at the end of February they are given another week.

Vacation calendar

And so, in 2016, the majority of schoolchildren will go on spring break on March 25, this is Friday. Next Monday, March 28, the children will be able, with a clear conscience, to stay at home. And they will have to return to school on April 3.

The dates of the main winter holidays are the same for those who study in quarters and for those who study in terms of terms. This rule always holds for the winter holidays. The only difference is the availability of additional vacations for "trimesters".

First graders also have their own vacation schedule, which is slightly different from high school. The main winter holidays are coming for kids, like everyone else, from December 25 to January 8. But there are also additional ones. Those who study in quarters will go on additional holidays from 19 to 25 February.

The timing of the additional vacations themselves, as well as the timing of the transfer of vacations in general, depend on many factors. This primarily depends on the air temperature. For lower grades, the maximum minus temperature is set at 25 degrees, for high school this temperature is minus 28 degrees. And finally, for high school students (10-11), this temperature is minus 30 degrees Celsius. In addition, the temperature required for conducting classes in the classroom has been determined. If it is below plus 18 degrees, then it is impossible to conduct classes. In winter, the morbidity threshold also rises much more often. At the same time, quarantine can be declared not only in the region, district or city, but also in a separate school if the epidemic threshold exceeds 25% of the total number of schoolchildren.

Schoolchildren and students are waiting for a vacation from the first of September. For the second, this expectation is fraught with excitement: before leaving to rest, they have to pass the session. And students have vacations only twice a year. Schoolchildren are different - four vacations a year!

When do students rest?

For university students, everything happens a little differently. There are no specific dates for the holidays. It depends on the schedule of lectures, tests, exams, practical training, etc. The rest time may differ significantly for different groups of students in the same university course. Therefore, the dates of student vacations can only be determined approximately.
