Preparatory Year at the University of Southampton

Foundation Year Preparatory Program

For students who need additional training in English and subjects chosen for further study. Separate programs for engineering, natural sciences, humanities and business majors. Requirements for applicants: a certificate with an average score of at least 4.5, knowledge of English at the level of IELTS 5.5.

Admission to the University of Southampton preparatory program is made through UCAS (All-British admissions committee). Duration of study is 1 academic year.

Bachelor's degree program

To enroll in an undergraduate program, you must have high score certificate and successfully complete the one-year preparatory Course at the University of Southampton. In this case, admission does not require registration with UCAS. If an applicant enters the first year of university with a 12-year education (A-Level, IB certificate, completed one or two courses at a Russian university, a preparatory course at another British college or university), then registration with UCAS is required for him. University Graduate Program

Graduates of Russian higher educational institutions with a bachelor's degree are admitted to standard postgraduate programs (Taught Programs) with a predominance of lectures and theoretical studies. Upon completion of the program, a master's degree is awarded ( MSc or MA). Graduates of reputable Russian universities with a specialist diploma or a master's degree, having a high average score(4.5-5.0), can apply to both standard postgraduate programs and programs that combine lectures with research work, after which, based on the results of scientific work, a degree is awarded MRes or MPhil... The duration of the programs is 12 months.

If, after completing the MRes degree, the researcher continues scientific work for 2-3 years, then after its completion and defense of the dissertation, the degree of Doctor of Philosophy is awarded ( PhD).

For graduates with at least three years of leadership experience planning career growth, a program is offered MBA(Master of Business Administration - Master of Business Administration). Duration of training is 12 months.

There is a special program for middle and senior managers with at least five years of work experience Executive MBA, most often having a modular structure.

Documents required for admission to postgraduate programs:

  • Completed University of Southampton Registration Form
  • Notarized translation of a copy of the diploma with grades
  • Certificate of passing the language exam (IELTS, TOEFL) with the required amount points

English language entry requirements
